The Pricing Playbook
A 64-page method for setting a price you can defend — cost floors, willingness-to-pay tests, the three-number model, and the conversation where you raise it. 22 worksheets.
Key Capabilities & Features:
- •A method you work through once and keep using, not prompts you run — 22 worksheets that produce your actual numbers
- •The Fully Loaded Cost worksheet counts the hours nobody bills for: admin, revisions, scoping calls, chasing payment. Most people discover their floor is well above their current price
- •The Three-Number Model — floor, target and walk-away — so a negotiation has a pre-decided answer instead of an improvised one
- •Chapter 8 models the revenue effect of a price rise including expected churn, before you send anything
- •No AI tool required. Works on paper, and the worksheets are designed to be filled in by hand
One-time payment • Lifetime access & future updates
What's Inside
8 chapters22 exercisesEvery chapter below is included in the single purchase — 64 pages in total.
- 1
Why Your Price Is Wrong
2 exercisesThe four ways prices get set by accident — matching a competitor, working backwards from what feels askable, never revisiting a number set in year one, and pricing on cost alone.
- 2
The Floor
4 exercisesWorking out what you cannot go below. Fully loaded cost including the hours nobody counts — admin, revisions, chasing payment. Worksheet produces one number you may not price under.
- 3
The Ceiling
3 exercisesWhat the buyer is comparing you against, including doing nothing. Substitute analysis and the switching cost that lets you charge above a cheaper alternative.
- 4
Finding Willingness To Pay
4 exercisesFour ways to test price before committing, ranked by cost and reliability. Why asking what someone would pay is worthless, and what to ask instead.
- 5
The Three-Number Model
3 exercisesEvery offer needs a floor, a target and a walk-away. The chapter that does most of the work — how to set all three and how to behave differently when a buyer pushes on each.
- 6
Structure & Tiers
3 exercisesChoosing what you charge for, tier construction so the middle option wins, and the anchoring effects that operate whether or not you designed them deliberately.
- 7
Saying The Number
2 exercisesDelivering a price without hedging, the silence after, and the three responses to pushback — hold, restructure, or walk. Includes what not to say while they think.
- 8
Raising It
1 exerciseRepricing existing customers, sequencing who hears when, grandfathering decisions, and the churn you should expect and accept. Worksheet models the revenue effect first.

Architecture & System Overview
Most prices are set by accident. Matched to a competitor, worked backwards from what felt askable, or set in year one and never revisited. None of those is a decision, and none of them survives a buyer who pushes back.
The Pricing Playbook is a 64-page method with 22 worksheets. You work through it once and come out with your own numbers: a floor you may not go below, a target you are aiming at, and a walk-away point decided in advance rather than invented under pressure.
It is deliberately not a prompt pack. Pricing is a sequence of decisions about your own costs, your buyer's alternatives and your own nerve — an AI cannot supply any of those, and a prompt that pretends to is producing a number with nothing behind it. What this does is make you do the arithmetic properly and then give you the words for the conversation.
The chapter most people report as the useful one is The Floor. Its worksheet counts fully loaded cost including the hours nobody bills — scoping calls, revisions, admin, chasing an invoice. A large share of readers find their existing price sits below the floor they just calculated, which reframes the whole question from what can I charge to what can I afford to accept.
Chapter 8 is for raising a price on people already paying you: sequencing, grandfathering, the script, and a model of the revenue effect including the churn you should expect and accept.
No AI tool required. If you would rather generate pricing copy and comparison tables, that is the pricing section of The Business Strategy Playbook.

My floor was above my price
Worksheet 3 took an hour and the answer was that my day rate sat about 18% below my fully loaded cost. I had been working at a loss on every project and could not see it because I only counted delivery hours. Repriced using Chapter 8. Lost one client, and I am better off.
The silence thing is real
I had no idea I was doing it. Said my number, panicked at two seconds of quiet, and offered a discount nobody had asked for. Counting to five instead has been worth several thousand already this quarter.
The unsuccessful quotes line
Apportioning the scoping hours from lost pitches across the projects I win changed my numbers substantially. I win about one in four, so every job was carrying three lots of unpaid scoping I had never counted.
It is a workbook, and it expects work
Twenty-two worksheets is not a light read and several need numbers I had to go and find. Worth it, but do not buy this expecting to skim it in an evening. There is nothing to copy-paste.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a prompt pack?
No — it is the opposite. Pricing depends on your costs, your buyer's alternatives and your own nerve, none of which an AI can supply. A prompt that produces a price is producing a number with nothing behind it. This makes you do the arithmetic yourself and then gives you the words for the conversation.
Do I need an AI tool to use it?
No. The worksheets are designed to be filled in by hand and the method works on paper. If you want prompts that generate pricing pages and comparison tables, that is the pricing section of The Business Strategy Playbook.
Does it work for products as well as services?
Yes, though the emphasis differs. Services get more from fully loaded cost and the pricing conversation; products get more from tiers, anchoring and willingness-to-pay testing. Chapters 2 to 6 apply to both.
Is it specific to a currency or country?
No. The worksheets are unit-agnostic — you fill in your own currency. Nothing here depends on a tax regime or jurisdiction, and where a decision would have tax consequences the book tells you to ask an accountant rather than guessing.
