The Client Proposal Swipe File
64 annotated proposal sections — what each one is really for, the paragraph that loses the deal, and the pricing page that gets signed instead of negotiated.
Key Capabilities & Features:
- •Section-level annotation rather than a fill-in template — each one carries its job, what the client actually takes from it, and the condition where it fails
- •Scope sections shown in enforceable and unenforceable pairs, because the difference is a few words and is invisible until you need it
- •Twelve pricing presentations annotated with what each invites the client to do next, since some formats invite signing and some invite negotiating
- •A failure catalogue of twelve sections that read as thorough and professional and reliably lose the work
- •Written examples, not real proposals lifted from anyone's business
One-time payment • Lifetime access & future updates

Architecture & System Overview
A proposal is not a description of the work. It is the document a client reads while deciding whether you understood them, and most of it is never read at all.
The Client Proposal Swipe File is 64 annotated proposal sections across openings and restated briefs, scope, pricing, timelines and dependencies, terms and exclusions — plus a failure catalogue. Each section carries three notes: what it is doing, what the client takes from it, and the condition under which it stops working.
The scope sections are shown in pairs: the same scope written so it can be enforced, and written so it cannot. The difference is usually a handful of words — a number where there was an adjective, a named deliverable where there was a category — and it is completely invisible until the moment you need to point at it.
The pricing pages are annotated with what each format invites the reader to do next. A single figure with no structure invites a negotiation. Three tiers invite a choice. A phased price invites a smaller first commitment. None of these is universally right, and picking the wrong one for the client in front of you is why proposals come back with questions instead of signatures.
Twelve of the sixty-four are failures, and they are the ones that read as thorough: the sixty-page document nobody opened past page four, the hedged estimate that signals you do not know what the work is, the price presented with nothing to compare it against.
Written examples throughout. Real proposals belong to the businesses that wrote them.
Pairs with The Web Design Studio System or The Agency & Consultant System if you want prompts that scope the project before you write anything.

The enforceable-versus-not pairs
Seeing my own wording as Version A on the page was uncomfortable. Every scope I had written was adjectives. Rewrote with counts and named deliverables and the last two projects have not overrun.
Broke my price into five lines
Same total. A client who would previously have asked me to come down asked instead whether we could drop the content migration. I kept my rate and lost a line item I did not want anyway.
The consolidated-feedback definition
One line defining a revision round as a single consolidated set of feedback within five days. That sentence has saved me more time than everything else I changed this year.
Not a template pack
There are no fill-in-the-blank documents. It is annotated examples you learn from and rewrite yourself. Better for me, but if you wanted a file to edit and send today this is not it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a set of proposal templates I can fill in?
No, and deliberately not. It is annotated examples — each section shown with what it is doing, what the client takes from it, and where it breaks. You write your own from what you learn, which produces a proposal that fits your work rather than a document that reads like a template.
Are these real proposals from real agencies?
No. Real proposals belong to the businesses that wrote them. These are written to isolate one lesson per section, which teaches more clearly than a real document where everything moves at once.
Does it work outside design and web work?
The scope, pricing, terms and failure sections apply to consulting, marketing, development and most project-based service work. A few timeline examples are web-specific and are labelled as such.
Do I need an AI tool?
No, it is a reading product. If you want prompts that scope and price a project before you write it up, that is The Web Design Studio System or The Agency & Consultant System.
