Grant Reporting & Resubmission Pack
22 prompts for what happens after the decision — interim and final reports funders read, reporting a project that underperformed, and deciding whether a rejection is worth resubmitting.
Key Capabilities & Features:
- •Reports written for a funder deciding whether to fund you again, which is what a report actually is
- •Honest handling of a project that missed its targets — the version that keeps the relationship and the version that quietly ends it
- •Variation requests made before you have already deviated, which is the only point at which they are easy
- •Rejection feedback read for what it says rather than what it seems to say, with a resubmit-or-not verdict

Architecture & System Overview
A grant report is not an administrative obligation. It is the document a funder reads when deciding whether to fund you again, and most organisations write it as though it were the former.
This is the Reporting & Relationships and Rejection & Resubmission sections of The Grant Writing Companion, sold on their own — 22 prompts for the part of the cycle that happens after the decision and gets the least attention.
The hardest prompt in it handles the project that did not hit its targets. There is a way of reporting that which explains what was learned and keeps a funder engaged, and a way that reads as excuse-making and quietly closes the door. The difference is mostly in whether you name the problem before describing the response.
The resubmission material reads rejection feedback for what it actually says. Panel feedback is written diplomatically and the real objection is frequently one clause in the middle. Deciding to resubmit without identifying it means changing the wrong things.
If you also need funder fit, logic models, need statements, case for support, budgets or outcome measurement, the full toolkit covers all eight areas.

Verified User Feedback
We missed two of four targets
The structure had us name that in the second paragraph rather than bury it on page three. The funder replied thanking us for the candour and has since invited a further application.
The real objection was one clause
Three paragraphs of polite feedback and the actual problem was a sentence about our governance. We would have rewritten the whole case for support and changed nothing that mattered.
Small, and it says so
Twenty-two prompts is not much. It is the right twenty-two if reporting is your job, and the listing tells you to buy the full toolkit if you also write applications. I should have listened.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does this relate to The Grant Writing Companion?
This is 2 sections of The Grant Writing Companion, sold on its own for people who only have this problem. It contains the same 22 prompts as that part of the toolkit — nothing is held back or rewritten. If you need more than these areas, the full toolkit is $46 and covers 8 sections with 140 prompts.
Is 22 prompts enough to be worth it?
It is the smallest pack we sell and priced accordingly. It exists because reporting is a distinct job from applying, often done by a different person months later. If you are also writing applications, buy the full toolkit rather than this.
Will it help me appeal a rejection?
It helps you decide whether there is anything to appeal, which is usually the more valuable question. Most rejections are not appealable and the useful move is a better resubmission or a different funder — the prompts are direct about which situation you are in.
How is it delivered?
A PDF with all 22 prompts, delivered within 24 hours of purchase. Copy, fill in the bracketed variables, and paste into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.
