Architecture & System Overview
The hardest part of an art practice is rarely the work. It is pricing a commission without undercharging, writing a statement that says something, and answering an open call that is deliberately vague about what it wants.
The Working Artist Protocol is a 112-prompt playbook covering commission pricing, commission briefs and client handling, artist statements, exhibition proposals, bio and press kit, series and body of work, and sales and representation.
Start with the Practice Primer — paste in your medium, your work, your price points and where you sell — and every prompt after it writes for your practice.
The commission section costs in hours and materials and puts revision limits in writing before anything starts, because unlimited revisions is how a fairly-priced commission becomes unpaid work. The statement prompts are written to resist art-speak: if a sentence could describe any artist's work, it gets cut, and there is a plain-language version for the people who will actually buy the piece.

Verified User Feedback
I had been underpricing by about half
The costing prompt counts consultation, sketch approvals, drying time and shipping admin. When I added those hours my last commission worked out at under minimum wage. Repriced everything and quoted the busy rate on the next one. They accepted.
Statement that does not sound like everyone else
It kept rejecting my own sentences for being generic and asking me what I actually meant. Uncomfortable process, much better statement. The plain-language version is what I now send buyers.
Representation section is small
Commissions, statements and proposals are thorough. Approaching galleries and consignment terms gets eight prompts, which is thin for something so consequential.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from the separate systems you used to sell?
It is all of them, in one purchase. Art Commission & Pricing System, Art Exhibition Proposal & Statement, Artist Bio & Press Kit Builder, Painting Concept & Series Planner, Art & Creative Project Brief Builder are now sections inside this toolkit, alongside 2 more that were never sold separately. Bought individually they came to $166.
Is this for a specific medium?
No. The Practice Primer asks your medium and the prompts adapt. Commission costing, statements, proposals, bios and series planning apply whether you paint, sculpt, print or work digitally. Materials and drying-time questions will simply be skipped where they do not apply.
Will it write my artist statement for me?
It will get you a draft you can react to, which is usually the hard part. It is instructed never to write anything that could equally describe another artist, so the output is only as specific as what you tell it about your work. Expect to be asked questions rather than handed a paragraph.
How is it delivered?
You receive a PDF with all 112 prompts organized into 7 sections, delivered within 24 hours of purchase. No app or account required — copy a prompt, fill in the bracketed variables, and paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.
Can I use this for client work?
Yes. Your purchase includes a single-user commercial and personal license, so you can use every prompt in your own business or for client deliverables without restriction.
