- •Page count and content responsibility pinned before any quote, which is where nearly every unprofitable site project originates
- •Discovery questions that surface what the site must achieve rather than what the client thinks it should look like
- •Sitemaps built from visitor intent, with the pages nobody will visit removed before they are quoted
- •Navigation labels tested against what a stranger would understand rather than what the client calls things internally

Architecture & System Overview
Website projects rarely lose money on the build. They lose it waiting eleven weeks for copy, on a page count that was never agreed.
This is the Discovery & Scoping and Sitemap & Structure sections of The Web Design Studio Toolkit, sold on their own — 40 prompts for the conversation that happens before you quote.
Two things get pinned: how many pages, and who is responsible for supplying the content for them. Almost every unprofitable site project traces back to one of those being left vague. Both are trivially easy to agree at discovery and impossible to agree in week nine.
The sitemap prompts build from what visitors are trying to do rather than from how the client's organisation is structured. Those produce very different site maps, and the second one produces the pages nobody visits — which you will nonetheless have quoted, designed, built and then waited for copy on.
If you also need page copy, build and components, content chasing, revisions, handover or care plans, the full toolkit covers all eight areas.

Page count before quoting
Obvious in hindsight. Agreeing the number of pages and who writes them at discovery has ended an argument I used to have on every third project.
Cut four pages before quoting
Built the sitemap from what visitors are trying to do rather than from their org chart. Four pages disappeared that nobody would have visited and I would have built.
Front half only
Nothing on chasing content, revisions or handover, which are also where I lose time. The full toolkit is the better purchase if any of those are your problem.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does this relate to The Web Design Studio System?
This is 2 sections of The Web Design Studio System, sold on its own for people who only have this problem. It contains the same 40 prompts as that part of the toolkit — nothing is held back or rewritten. If you need more than these areas, the full toolkit is $49 and covers 8 sections with 140 prompts.
Is this platform-specific?
No. Discovery, scoping and information architecture are the same whether you build in Webflow, WordPress, Framer or by hand. The platform-specific material is in the build section of the full toolkit.
I am a solo freelancer. Useful?
More so than for a studio, arguably — a solo builder absorbs scope creep and content delays personally rather than spreading them across a team.
How is it delivered?
A PDF with all 40 prompts, delivered within 24 hours of purchase. Copy, fill in the bracketed variables, and paste into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.
