Architecture & System Overview
The difference between a template that sells and one that gets refunded is rarely the design. It is whether the buyer could change the photo without the whole layout collapsing.
The Canva Design Business Blueprint is a 136-prompt playbook covering template concepts, brand kits and systems, editability and handover, listing copy, buyer instructions, client work, licensing and rights, and print and export.
Start with the Design Business Primer — paste in what you sell, where you sell it and how skilled your buyers are — and every prompt after it designs for those people rather than for another designer.
Editability gets its own section because it is where template businesses actually lose money. A buyer who swaps in a portrait photo where you used a landscape one, on a phone, with a font they do not have, will not blame themselves. The prompts work through what breaks and what to lock before it does.
Licensing is handled in plain language: what may and may not be resold from a platform content library, how stock and font terms flow through to your buyer, and what to do when someone claims your work. Getting this wrong removes a listing rather than merely embarrassing you.
And the print section exists because bleed mistakes are discovered by a buyer, after they have paid a printer for a hundred copies.
Note: platform licensing terms change. The prompts explain how to read the current terms and what questions to ask, and direct you to the platform's own licence pages for anything binding rather than guessing on your behalf.

Verified User Feedback
The buyer-proofing pass found six things
Two frames that cropped badly with portrait photos, a headline that reflowed the whole page when someone typed a longer title, and a paid-tier font I had not noticed. All before listing, rather than after the first refund.
Instructions cut my support messages in half
I had been answering the same four questions every week. The one-page guide built from those exact questions has more or less ended them.
It refused to give me a licensing answer
Asked whether I could resell something using platform stock and it explained how the terms are structured, then told me to verify the current licence page rather than take its word. Correct, if slightly annoying.
Business, not craft
There is nothing here about visual design itself. That is stated up front and it is fine, but manage your expectations.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it design the templates for me?
No. It handles concepts, systems, buyer-proofing, listing copy, instructions, licensing and print setup. The actual design work stays in the editor with you.
Can I trust it on licensing?
Treat it as a plain-language explainer, not legal advice. The prompts are written to explain how the terms are structured and what to check, and they are instructed never to state a licensing position as settled — because platform content licences change and a wrong answer costs you a listing.
I do client work, not templates. Is half of this useless?
The client section, brand kits, handover and print apply directly. Listing copy and buyer instructions will not — though the handover material has more in common with buyer instructions than most designers expect.
How is it delivered?
You receive a PDF with all 136 prompts organized into 8 sections, delivered within 24 hours of purchase. No app or account required — copy a prompt, fill in the bracketed variables, and paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.
Can I use this for client work?
Yes. Your purchase includes a single-user commercial and personal license, so you can use every prompt in your own business or for client deliverables without restriction.
