Architecture & System Overview
Academic work is mostly writing under constraint: a word limit, a reviewer's objection, a funder's criteria, an ethics committee. The research is the part you were trained for. The rest usually is not.
The Academic Research Playbook is a 176-prompt playbook covering research questions and hypotheses, literature reviews, paper structure and writing, methods and analysis plans, ethics and consent, lab notebooks and records, citations, grant proposals, peer review responses, conferences and presentations, and the academic job market.
Start with the Research Primer — paste in your field, your methods, your career stage and your current project — and every prompt after it writes inside your discipline's conventions rather than in generic academic register.
The peer review section is the one most researchers need on a bad Tuesday: response letters that address every point raised, with an explicit assessment of which criticisms you should accept and which you should defend, because conceding a sound finding to an unreasonable reviewer is how good papers get weakened.
The methods prompts push you to pre-specify analysis before seeing data, and will tell you plainly when a question needs a statistician rather than an AI assistant.

The reviewer triage saved my revision
Reviewer 2 had four objections and I was ready to concede all of them out of exhaustion. Sorting them into valid, misreading and genuine disagreement showed two were misreadings of an ambiguous paragraph. Fixed the paragraph, defended the finding, accepted with minor revisions.
It refuses to invent references
I tested it deliberately and it would not produce a citation it could not attribute. After the fabricated-reference stories in my department that alone made me trust the rest of it.
Lay summary section got me the grant
I had never taken the lay summary seriously. Learning that panel members often read it first, and getting a structure for it, changed how I write applications.
Job market section is generic to my field
Writing, methods and review sections are excellent. The academic job market prompts skew toward US-style search processes and needed adapting for the UK.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from the separate systems you used to sell?
It is all of them, in one purchase. Research Question & Hypothesis Builder, Literature Review Outline System, Research Paper Structure Planner, Citation & Reference Organizer, Data Analysis Plan for Theses, Research Ethics & Consent Form Builder, Lab Notebook & Experiment Log System, Experiment Log & Hypothesis Tracker, Grant Proposal Outline for Researchers, Peer-Review Response Letter Builder, Conference Abstract & Poster Builder, Academic Presentation Script Builder, Academic Job Application Package Builder are now sections inside this toolkit. Bought individually they came to $254.
Will this write my paper for me?
No, and using it that way would be misconduct at most institutions. It helps you structure an argument, tighten prose to a word limit, plan methods and respond to reviewers. The findings, the analysis and the intellectual contribution have to be yours — and the prompts are written to ask you for them rather than invent them.
Does it generate citations?
Deliberately not. The Research Primer sets a standing rule against inventing sources, because fabricated citations are the single most damaging way AI gets used in academic writing. The citation section helps you organise real references and verify that a source supports the claim you are making with it.
Is it field-specific?
The Primer asks your field, subfield and methodology, and the prompts adapt terminology and conventions. Structure, ethics, grants and peer review are broadly shared. Lab notebook and experiment prompts assume bench or field work and will be less relevant to purely theoretical work.
How is it delivered?
You receive a PDF with all 176 prompts organized into 11 sections, delivered within 24 hours of purchase. No app or account required — copy a prompt, fill in the bracketed variables, and paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.
Can I use this for client work?
Yes. Your purchase includes a single-user commercial and personal license, so you can use every prompt in your own business or for client deliverables without restriction.
